Safranbolu is the most populated and agglomerated sub-province of Karabuk province of the Black Sea/Central Anatolia region. It is a typical city constructed during the Ottoman Empire. Founded in the 11th century with the immigration of Turks to Anatolia, Safranbolu gained a lot of importance in the 20th century ; thanks to the advancement of railways and its central location between the West and the East.
Today, the city center of Safranbolu [named ''Çukur'' (the pit)] is under the protection of UNESCO. Most of the sub-province is also heavily regulated in terms of new construction and the conservation of old buildings. As a result, Safranbolu's historic feel is still present today on its streets.
Our guesthouse is located in the "Bağlar" quarter of the city. This neighborhood was where the people of the city center spent their vacation time. Therefore, most houses in Bağlar have big and phonemenal gardens or backyards, still to this day.
